Dental Services
Derby Aboriginal Health Service (DAHS) provides culturally safe dental care for Aboriginal community members across the West Kimberley. Recognising the challenges of accessing dental treatment in remote areas, DAHS delivers regular services through its monthly dental team and partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
The monthly dental team, led by Pete and Shaz, provide a full range of dental services for adults and children. This includes preventive care, fillings, extractions, dentures, and management of dental pain or infection. By having a consistent team on-site each month, DAHS ensures continuity of care and builds strong relationships with patients.
Alongside treatment, DAHS promotes oral health through education and preventive advice. Staff provide guidance on oral hygiene, nutrition, and strategies to maintain healthy teeth and gums. This proactive approach helps individuals and families prevent dental problems before they require more complex treatment.
