Community Controlled Health

Derby Aboriginal Health Service is an Aboriginal community controlled organisation. This means the service is governed by Aboriginal people and remains accountable to the communities it serves.

Community control ensures health services are shaped by local knowledge, cultural values and community priorities. It supports culturally safe care, strong governance and health services that respond to real community needs.

As part of the Aboriginal community controlled health sector, Derby Aboriginal Health Service is a member of several regional, state and national organisations. These memberships strengthen collaboration, shared learning and advocacy across the Aboriginal health system.
