About Us
Derby Aboriginal Health Service was established by Aboriginal people for Aboriginal people, with a clear purpose to strengthen the health and wellbeing of our communities.
We empower Aboriginal people to prevent and manage ill health, and to promote wellbeing for individuals, families and communities. We also support Aboriginal people to take an active role in decision making, planning and the delivery of their own health services.
Since our establishment, Derby Aboriginal Health Service has been at the heart of community health in the West Kimberley, delivering culturally safe, holistic and accessible care with a strong commitment to culture and community.
Our Vision and Mission
We are deeply committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our people through culturally grounded, community-led care that strengthens families, celebrates culture and builds a healthier future for generations to come.
Our Vision
That Derby and surrounding remote communities can access the health and wellbeing care they need to stay strong, healthy, empowered, and resilient.
Our Mission
To be the peak holistic health service in Derby, led by Aboriginal people for Aboriginal people.
We work innovatively with our community to provide high-quality, holistic primary healthcare that meets their physical, mental, social, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs.

What we do
We provide a comprehensive range of primary health care services, supported by a team of dedicated health professionals and visiting specialists.
Our services are designed to help people live longer, healthier lives through a strong focus on education, prevention and treatment. From chronic disease management and maternal health to social and emotional wellbeing, we aim to support the whole person in mind, body and spirit.
Reaching our communities
In addition to our main clinic in Derby, Derby Aboriginal Health Service supports seven remote Aboriginal communities across the West Kimberley region.
By delivering services beyond our clinic, we help ensure equitable access to essential health care for Aboriginal people, no matter where they live.
Our commitment to Country, culture and community is at the core of everything we do.
